DoorDash

Sr. Copywriter (contract) | Oct. 2021–April 2025, San Francisco

I supported the in-house Brand & Creative team across Consumer, Merchant (B2B), and Dasher verticals. I also contributed to DashMart, DashPass, and Caviar creative. My main focus was the Dasher (delivery driver) side of the business. I was the sole copywriter for this workstream, partnering with the large Dasher team. I worked on large integrated campaigns to small partner initiatives, and everything in between. I wrote and edited hundreds of assets per year.

Stitch Fix

Sr. UX Content Designer & Marketing Copywriter (contract) | May 2018–Oct. 2021, San Francisco

As Stitch Fix's sole Content Designer, I owned all UX and web/app copy, partnering with cross-functional teams to develop content strategy and evolve the product experience to drive adoption, engagement and retention. I also worked on Product Marketing Copy across Women, Men, and Kids verticals.

Oversaw all marketing copy from website to email to print. Managed all copywriters and proofreaders (up to 16 people).

As the sole copywriter in the SF office, I crafted and edited copy for nearly every client project, and maintained copy style guides. Responsibilities included brainstorming multi-channel digital campaigns and concepting wireframes; copy execution for mobile and desktop email, landing pages, social media; collaborating with art directors, designers and coders. B2B and B2C clients included: Hawaiian Airlines, Symantec, Hewlett-Packard, GoWallet, Whole Foods Market, Realtor.com and StubHub.

Sr. Copywriter (full-time) | 2009–2013, Oakland, CA

Concepted/wrote/edited copy for Web (product copy, editorial content, SEO, UX, display ads, etc.), newspaper and magazine print ads, email, broadcast, store signing and packaging, customer loyalty, social media, plus major integrated campaigns. Managed a team of 9+ freelance and full-time copywriters; hiring and training. Authored an extensive Web product copy style guide and an email style guide. Responsible for ensuring all departments were aligned in voice and messaging, and all copy output was consistently high quality and on brand.
 

Macy's, Inc.

Copywriter (full-time) | 2007-2009, San Francisco

Used creative and technical copy to sell Macy’s product, including: fashion/shoes, jewelry/accessories, cosmetics, fragrance and more. Worked on over 100 tab, catalog and postcard projects per year, varying copy voice for each type (ex: fashion catalog vs. sale tab), meeting tight deadlines.

  2. I love to travel! I’ve been to 6 continents and 50+ countries (see my blog).

  3. I’ve had 10+ short stories published in magazines (and 1 on a podcast).

  4. Currently working on my second novel.

  5. Two short plays I’ve written have been performed in San Francisco.

  6. I'm a fine art photographer and was recently on a photography podcast.

  7. I grew up riding horses on a farm in Michigan.

  8. I’m familiar with AP and Chicago style, but am partial to AP.

  9. Oxford commas: I like them, but I’ll happily defer to your style guide!
